21 years of Collaborative Procurement: How does it help us tackle today’s problems?
In 2000, the collaborative procurement techniques of PPC2000 were ahead of their time, but 21 years later the success of this form and the strategic FAC-1 and TAC-1 contracts show how collaborative procurement has come into its own. The Association of Consultant Architects, King’s College London and the Alliance Steering Group have shaken off the shackles of Covid restrictions and are delighted to announce the return of our annual conference – at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham on Thursday 14th October, in person and via live stream.
This year, we focus on a celebration of collaborative procurement, showcasing success stories over the last two decades and exploring how collaborative action plans can tackle efficiency and safety concerns, climate change, social value and Covid-19. The more challenges we face, the greater the influence of collaboration on the future of construction.
Announcing our speakers
We are very pleased to have as our Keynote Speaker Alison Nicholl, Head of Constructing Excellence, whose dedicated support for collaborative procurement systems is second to none. Alison will discuss her work on initiatives that include the Construction Innovation Hub ‘Value Toolkit’ and the MHCLG ‘Guidance on Collaborative Procurement for Design and Construction to Support Building Safety’.
A plenary session of industry leaders will then consider the challenges posed by the ‘Construction Playbook’, its interdependencies with alliance contracts and the impact of the new ‘Gold Standard’ for construction frameworks. Professor David Mosey of King’s College London, appointed by Lord Agnew this year to lead the Government’s independent review of construction frameworks, will present his findings and chair a panel including John Welch of Crown Commercial Service, Keith Heard of Hampshire County Council and the National Association of Construction Frameworks, Jess Munn of Speller Metcalfe and Tyron Stalberg of VINCI Facilities.
This conference will offer essential insights for construction clients, consultants and contractors working in any sector and we hope to see you there.
The conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham, with a fee of £150 + VAT, including lunch and refreshments, if you attend in person or £50 + VAT for those wishing to attend on-line via a live stream of the event.
There is also an optional evening meal for £50 + VAT. Accommodation can be booked directly with the Crowne Plaza.
