About Shahrokh
Shahrokh is a RIBA Chartered Architect with over 18 years of professional experience in Residential, Regeneration, Sustainable Design, Mixed-Use, Commercial Developments from inception to completion.
Responsive design and construction in all shapes and forms are his passions. Amongst numerous prototypes, Glasgow House and iLKA are testimonial to his approach to design. These are built prototypes he designed to target fuel poverty in Glasgow and London while working at PRP and Curious Architect. Shahrokh's other experience includes commercial, mixed-use developments, hotel and retail across UK, Canada, Russia, Middle East, North Africa and China.
Since 2002 he has been working and collaborating with spectrum of Architects, commercial and private developers across UK across RIBA stages.
Formed in 2012, Zandi Architects ltd. created a platform to collaborate with various developers and architects i.e Benoy, Derell, CHBC Architects in approaching global markets. Since 2016 he has been collaborating with Curious London focused on design and delivery of various projects. “ilka” is one of these projects which is a Low Carbon Volumetric Offsite manufactured House constructed in East London in 2017. Stour Street Tannery (RIBA stage 4-5) is a major refurbishment / new-build residential development in a conservation area in Canterbury providing 27 flats and houses.
He can Develop and oversee projects from pre-planning stage and concept design through to completion on site and has the ability to deal with technically challenging (listed buildings, daylight, flooding, acoustics/noise etc) sites.
He can Check and oversee tender, specification and construction documents from outsourced firms.
With good quantitative and technical knowledge he has solid working knowledge of the current UK Building Regulations and able to coordinate external consultants (structural engineer, M&E etc).
He also has a good academic English with strong IT skills including MS office, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Layout, Revit, Adobe Suite in both PC & Mac platforms
Teaching is his second nature and all through his career he has been teaching and mentoring junior members. He has been a critic and a speaker in the UK and Iran. He can successfully lead design studios and has proven record of creativity when teaching/mentoring students on how to conceptualise, represent, and realise design projects responding to contemporary debates in architecture and Sustainable Developments.
He is keen to read, learn and develop his skills on a daily basis and currently applying for AABC accreditation.
